MODALITIES

What Photobiomodulation Therapy Is

Photobiomodulation Therapy is a technology that uses superlumious and laser diodes to irradiate diseased or traumatized tissue with photons. These particles of energy are selectively absorbed by your cell membrane and intracellular molecules, resulting in the initiation of a cascade of complex physiological reactions, leading to restoration of normal cell structure and function.

A Safe Therapy

Through testing and scientific study, photobiomodualtion therapy has shown that no adverse effects have been experienced, indicating that the therapy is completely safe and can used in treating children, seniors and adults.

What Photobiomodulation Therapy Can Be Used For

Photobiomodualtion therapy is highly effective in the treatment of musculoskeletal conditions, arthritis and sports injuries. Some more specific areas are:

  • Soft Tissue & Sports Injuries

  • Back Problems

  • Repetitive Stress Injuries

  • Inflammatory Conditions

  • and Others (eg. Temporo-mandibular Joint Dysfunction, Lymphedema, Gout, Fibromyalgia, Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy, Wounds and much more...)

Shockwave Therapy Device

Shockwave is an acoustic wave which carries high energy to painful areas and soft tissues with subacute, sub-chronic and chronic conditions. This energy promotes healing, and the regenerating and reparative processes. It’s a unique, non-invasive solution for pain associated with the musculoskeletal system. Just three to five treatments needed at weekly intervals. A therapy session only takes approximately 10 minutes.

Medical Effects of Shockwave Therapy

  • Decreases muscle tension & inhibits spasms by increasing blood flow to the affected area, along with lessening the pathological interactions between actin & myosin.

  • Dissolves calcified fibroblasts

  • Increases collagen production

  • Accelerates the removal of nociceptive metabolites, and increases oxygenation

  • Enhances dispersion of substance P (a pain mediator and growth factor). The reduction of its      concentration reduces pain in the affected area and decreases risk of development of oedema.

  • Peripheral Vascular

  • Cerebral Vascular

  • Musculoskeletal

  • Inflammatory and Neoplastic conditions

There are many biomedical, scientific and health applications.

This is an extremely objective test, involving an understanding of fundamental medicine (anatomy and physiology). Temperature differences appear as colour gradations based upon increases or decreases in thermal activity at the various anatomical regions.
